John Brodeur, Chairman, Brodeur Partners

John founded the Brodeur/Martin Company, a public relations firm that became one of the leading agencies in the western United States. He founded Brodeur & Partners, a public relations agency dedicated solely to technology clients. Omnicom Group Inc. purchased the agency in 1993. John subsequently repurchased a majority stake in the business from Omnicom in 2011.

John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Nevada and a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

Ankush Chopra, Assistant Professor of Strategy, Babson College

Connie Connors, Owner and Chief Executive Officer, Connors Communications 
Connie Connors is a leader instrategic marketing communications.  For more than 25 years, she and her firm, Connors Communications, have worked with both startup and Fortune 500 technology and media companies in public relations and marketing, product development, investor relations and overall branding. She is a futurist and positioning expert in new media public relations having been instrumental in the launch of many brands such as Amazon, Priceline, Lending Tree, RealNetworks, Overture (the first paid service, now Yahoo), 24/7 (the first ever online advertising network) and Vonage (the first VoIP) as well as helped many well known brands such as Disney, Nordstrom and National Geographic, transform their businesses online.

Mark D. Flanagan, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at TwinPeaks Research
Mark has over twenty-five years of experience and success introducing breakthrough products in emerging technology markets. He is currently a Co-founder and the Managing Partner at TwinPeaks Research, a company that provides strategic marketing services to technology start-ups. Prior to TwinPeaks, Mark was the Co-founder and CEO at TEAMworks Software, Envox Worldwide and Brooktrout Software. He has also held senior management positions at Kurzweil Applied Intelligence, Inc., International Data Group, Lotus Development Corporation and General Computer Corporation. Mark received his BA from the University of Rochester and attended the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.

Michael Phillips, Award winning filmmaker, producer, editor, and industry technologist  
Michael’s contributions include the co-invention and design of Avid’s Media Composer, Film Composer, and Symphony product lines, which offer professional digital online and offline editing and finishing. He also designs infrastructure and solutions to enable programming to be published to multiple digital channels such as interactive television and broadband.

Michael joined Avid in 1990 to develop and design film products such as theAvid Film Composer®, which earned him a 1994 Academy Award® for Scientific and Engineering Achievement from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In 1999, Michael and Avid were rewarded with another Oscar® for their continued efforts in enhancing and developing the Avid Film Composer as well as being recognized with a Massachusetts Innovator of the year Award.

Michael has lectured around the world on new digital processes, spoken at industry forums, and conducted workshops on post-production technologies. He co-wrote the book “Digital Filmmaking, The Changing Art Form of Making Movies,” published by Focal Press. He has been awarded more than 10 patents from the United States Patent Office for digital synchronization of picture and sound and other editing technologies pertaining to 24 frames, as well as compositing, interactive media, and surround sound.

Richard Rabins, Co-chairman, Alpha Software; Co-founder and Director, Tubifi  
Richard is responsible for managing the sales, marketing and strategy of Alpha Software. Previously, he was CEO of SoftQuad International Inc – a public company that developed web site creation tools and  traded on NASDAQ and the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Prior to founding Alpha, Richard was a project leader and consultant with Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) who created the Express OLAP decision support software program now owned by Oracle.  Previously he was a management consultant with Management Decision Systems, Inc., a MIT spin out  providing quantitatively based strategic and product marketing help to Fortune 500 companies. Richard holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a masters degree in control engineering from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He also holds a master’s degree in Management Science from the Sloan School at MIT.


Jeffrey Rayport, Founder and Chairman, Marketspace
Jeffrey is a consultant, author, and founder and chairman of Marketspace LLC, a strategic advisory practice that works with leading companies to reinvent how they interact with and relate to customers. Marketspace is a unit of Monitor Group, a global strategy services and merchant banking firm.
Rayport is an authority on information-intensive industries such as media and entertainment, retail, and financial services. Previously a faculty member at Harvard Business School, where he was voted outstanding professor in 1997, 1998 and 1999.

Jeffrey earned an A.B. from Harvard College, an M.Phil. in International Relations at the University of Cambridge (U.K.), and an A.M. and Ph.D. in the History of American Civilization at Harvard University. He has served as a director and advisor of several public and private corporations


Harbaldeep Singh, Co-Founder, Tubifi
Harbal designed and managed development of the Tubifi prototype, and laid the groundwork for today’s Tubifi cloud-based video production software platform. Previously, Harbal worked at Avid and Sonos. Harbal’s team at Avid won a Technical Emmy.

Emanuel D. Torti, Esq.  
“Manny” Torti has been practicing law since 1985. After earning an engineering degree from Boston University, Manny gained “real world” experience working as a Design Engineer for E.I. Dupont de Nemours, Inc. and Texas Instruments, Inc. and working in business/technology development for Texas Instruments, Inc. After earning a law degree from Suffolk University, Manny gained in-house experience Prime Computer/Computervision before entering private practice with Ricklefs & Giordano, P.C. He founded the firm in 1994 with a commitment and understanding of entrepreneurs and their unique challenges.

His expertise includes over two decades of both legal and business counsel, negotiation, and drafting complex agreements and to steer companies to prosperity.
